Say Goodbye to Lip Lines and Hi To Juvederm

Kissable lips are among the long list of beauty desires all women want. And it's no secret that plump lips are synonymous with kissable. But, as we age, lines can start to form that make our once plump lips look flat. Luckily, there are things we can do to both prevent and repair those lines! Originally posted on NewBeauty.com, here are five things you can do to get kissable lips.

Everyone likes to pucker up from time to time, but that pursing motion-along with aging, collagen and elastin loss-can cause those tiny vertical lines to develop across the top of your upper lip. Not only do these lines make you look older, but they also cause your lipstick to bleed beyond your lips. However, you can keep these fine lines at bay or diminish them if they've started to appear. Here's how:

Stop smoking: The continual pursing of your lips, along with the cellular damage smoking causes, will break down the collagen that keeps your lips looking soft and supple.

Moisturize and exfoliate: The sun and other environmental elements will cause your lips to dry out, so be sure to use a lip balm regularly that includes ingredients like honey or hyaluronic acid. You'll also want to slough away dry skin with a gentle lip exfoliator once a week.

Go for nudes: If you like a glossy finish to your lips, choose nude shades that complement your skin tone, since darker tones are more apt to emphasize the lines. Play up your eye makeup, instead.

Resurface the skin: You can target those tiny lines with fractional lasers, dermabrasion or chemical peels in various strengths, depending on how pronounced your lines have become. Pigmentation changes may be an issue for the sensitive skin around your lips after a laser or peel treatment, so be sure to discuss this with your dermatologist.

Fill in lines: Fillers injected, like Juvederm, into the lips must be done with the utmost care to avoid overly filled or “duck” lips. Be sure to seek out a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has extensive experience in filling lips so that you can smooth the lines and achieve a natural look for your lips. Your physician may also suggest a small injection of a neurotoxin such as Botox, or Dysport to lessen the muscle movement that can cause the lines to form.

Maintaining Your Laser Hair Removal Results

Once you’ve gone through the full course of treatment, it’s important to protect your skin from the sun and keep it healthy to prolong your results. If not, you are just damaging your skin again. Original article on NewBeauty.com.

1. Stay Out of the Sun: “The best way to maintain your results is to stay out of the sun and wear sunblock daily,” says Boca Raton, FL, dermatologist Dr. Allison Schwedelson.

2. Take Care of Your Skin: Now that your skin is healthy, you want to keep it that way. Sunscreen, antioxidants and a moisturizer are essential. Antioxidants repair damage and protect skin to prevent future damage. Moisturizers keep skin hydrated.

3. Use a Retinol Regularly: Over-the-counter and prescription-strength retinoids reinforce laser results by keeping the skin in repair mode, creating new collagen and exfoliating the surface.

4. Interval Treatments: Nothing lasts forever—not even the results of a laser. Re-treatments every now and then will help maintain the longevity of your results for healthier skin.

According to Dr. Broumand, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is the only filler of its kind to be approved by the FDA for volume enhancement in the midface. "Results from JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC are instantaneous and generally last anywhere from one and a half to two years," he says, "so there's really nothing else on the market that compares to its longevity without a need for additional treatments." Better Business with BOTOX

If you’re a business owner worried about your bottom line, should you be worried about your facial lines?

In today’s business world, your face is an increasingly important business asset. Social media demands pictures and videos. FaceTime, Skype, webinars all help small-business owners stay in touch with clients and consumers, but they also can have the side effect of making you look older and droopier than you really are.

Let’s face it, you can use your 10-year-old photo only for so long.

If you can look somewhat younger, could it help you be more successful? Yes, I know that’s a terribly unfair question. The world should value wisdom and experience as much as youthful enthusiasm. And once you’ve reached a certain level of achievement, your age actually may be seen as an advantage. But many entrepreneurs and small-business owners vie with much younger competitors. Looking more youthful may help you land that big client.

Flowers and chocolate? No, thanks! 78% of women want BOTOX for Valentine's Day

Stuck for gift inspiration this year, men? Women want botox for Valentine's Day - and 78 per cent would be 'impressed' if you gave them a voucher for it.

•    78% of women say they'd be impressed if partner bought them Botox
•    But 7% would be offended
•    Dermal fillers and botox topped most lusted-after gift list
•    Women don't want laser hair removal or skin tightening

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, men are picking their brains over the perfect way to say 'I love you'.

But forget wilting flower bouquets, cringey chocolates and kitschy teddy bears, because most women have only one gift on their hit list this year.
Nearly 80 per cent of women want Botox as their present this February - with 78 per cent saying they'd be 'impressed' if their partner treated them to it, according to research.

When researchers asked women how they'd feel if their partner bought them botox, 78 per cent said they'd be impressed, 15 per cent said they would be mildly pleased yet concerned, and the remaining seven per cent said they would be slightly offended or not happy.

The study also looked at which cosmetic treatments women would like to receive for Valentine's Day - with dermal filler, botox and tooth whitening topping the list.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, women would hate to receive - men, are you paying attention? - laser hair removal, skin tightening and leg vein removal this year.

Men have even been scouring the net for advice, with one cosmetic surgery and treatment review website seeing a rise in enquiries from loved-up men seeking advice on whether they should respond to their partners' anti-ageing concerns.

New research reveals the number one question from men was: 'Which aesthetic treatments can I give as a Valentine’s Day gift without offending her?'.

Speaking about the results, a spokesperson for Good Surgeon Guide, who carried out the study, said: 'While our general opinion is that gifting cosmetic surgery or aesthetic treatments is not good idea, it cannot erase the fact that people still feel compelled to give and receive them.
'We recommend that men who choose to give cosmetic treatments for Valentine's must understand how the gift may make their partner feel, especially if it's a surprise.

'If at all possible, it's best to speak with their partner about the treatment and make sure it is something they want.'

You may be surprised with the amount of women who would rather get BOTOX for Valentine's Day than chocolate and flowers. If you're one of those women, or looking for a gift for one, check out BOTOX Atlanta today.

What is Juvéderm Voluma?

Have you heard about Juvéderm Voluma yet?

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is an injectable gel that volumizes the mid-face, plumping the skin to help eliminate lines, wrinkles, and sagging cheeks and jowls. While it has been used in Europe, Canada and South America for several years, Juvéderm Voluma XC was given a vote of confidence by the General and Plastic Surgery Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee during summer 2013 and approved by the FDA during fall of 2013.

FDA approved for cheek augmentation, Juvéderm Voluma XC is the first and only product designed to add volume to all areas of the cheeks and mid-face. It can also be used to plump the chin and is useful to add definition to the jaw line.

Juvéderm Voluma XC contains Hyaluraonic acid, a naturally-occurring substance that keeps the skin full and firm. It also contains a small amount of lidocaine, which helps numb the area of injection, making the treatment more comfortable for the patient. Unlike other injectables, Juvéderm Voluma XC is made with Vycross, a proprietary cross-linking process that creates increased thickness and moldability in the gel. This means that the treatment is more effective for volumizing the face and lasts longer than fillers. In fact, you can expect a Juvéderm Voluma XC injection to last as long as two years.
